Still buzzing from the ending of Raw last night, where WWE Champion, Randy Orton, and World Heavyweight Champion, John Cena, had a few words. Along with the champions, a number of former WWE and WH Champions were there as well. Names such as, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, and CM Punk were in attendance along with Hall Of Famers, Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, and Bret “The Hitman” Hart.
The Ascension began with Orton stating some words, saying that Cena lacks Ruthless aggression and that image is everything to Cena. He also adds in that he is the greatest superstar or this and past eras. He then bashes the hall of famers stated above saying that he took years off of their careers.
Then it was Cena’s turn. Cena starts off by gesturing for Daniel Bryan to step forward. Cena asked Bryan if any of his parents worked for the WWE, Bryan replied with a certain “No”. Cena also asked Bryan did he have to WORK for everything he has gotten, Bryan replies with a rambunctious “YES” while his hometown crowd of Washington followed. The point of the Cena/Bryan interaction was to prove a point to Orton that he has not worked for what he has recieved.
Cena continues on saaying that, since the beginning, Orton was sheltered by the best performer in the buisiness (talking about HHH and Ric Flair of Evolution) and how he is hiding behind the authority. He begans to get more personal, talking about Ortons behavioral problems inside and outside the ring. But Cena hits Orton with a mighty gut punch, saying that if Orton wins at the TLC par-per-view, Orton can now walk around say to his peers “hey guys! I’m finally what I’m suppose to be 10 years ago” leaving he crowd in aww.
Cena continues, with boasting the former champions in the ring, showing then respect. He ends his rant wishing Orton good luck at the TLC pay-per-view.
They shake hands, but as the titles were being lifted. Orton cheap shots Cena, and the rumble was on. Former champions try to break up the two in to opposite corners. In one corner, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, Alberto DelRio, The Miz, and CM Punk were trying to calm down Orton. During Ortons “kicking and screaming” he strikes Punk in the face, setting the self proclaimed “best in the world” into a striking frenzy. Punk attacks Orton until HHH AGGRESSIVELY pulls Punk away. Punks rage turns to the COO, striking the Game down. Punks taste for a fight soon turns to a taste of Sweet Chin Music, and HBK strikes him with a super kick. The Washington crowd begans to roar as The Showstopper turns into a vicious running knee by the home town kid Daniel Bryan. Orton tries to Neutralize Bryan with an RKO, but Daniel counters, pushing Orton into Stephanie McMahon, knocking her Temporarily unconscious. The Chaos that ensued suddenly stops and Triple H runs to his wife’s aid. The games concern for his wife turns into rage towards Orton as he Pedigrees the WWE Champion.
The segment ends with The Authority and John Cena standing side by side while Orton laid confused in the corner. The sight has left many viewers thinking that this could be a possible heel turn for John Cena and a possible alliance with the authority.
We will all have to wait and see what happens at the TLC Pay-Per-View.
